My name is Emily Kruger. I’m currently student at the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, majoring in Photography. I have always loved taking pictures and I am working on fulfilling my dream of becoming a professional photographer and owning my own business. After I graduate in three semesters I plan on opening a studio somewhere close to home, which is Slater, MO.

I don’t have any one specific area of photography other than photographing people. I love people! Capturing people’s personality and individuality is a goal I strive for in each session I shoot.

This past semester, Spring 2011, I entered Expo a photo competition UCM Photo Society has each Spring (I am treasurer of Photo Society going on three semesters). I received a first, second, and third place on three different images of mine! In the competition there are different categories and the first, second, and third place winners of each category are chosen by professional photographers that come in and judge the images. I won first and second in the Children and Family category and third in the High School Senior category!

I love what I do and wouldn’t change it for anything. Preserving memories for future generations to see is one of the best feelings in the world. I have always photographed by the saying “A picture is worth a thousand words” and I hope to capture photographs for each client that are worth thousands of words!
